On Saturday, April 9, faculty, families, and friends enjoyed an evening with the arts. Middle and Upper School performers were spectacular in the Spring Concert. Our musicians' talents shined bright and the audience loved every moment!
The Dexter Southfield Gallery debuted its spring exhibition during Arts Night. The Art Department worked with students in Classes 1-12 to create the site specific sculptures and works on paper for this themed installation exhibition: the Four Elements. Through brainstorming sessions, discussions, and drawings, the plans for these projects began to take shape. Plastic straws, plaster, cardboard shipping tubes, and painted paper have been transformed into wind, tree forms, a volcano, and a cascading waterfall. Some of these representations are very clear, while others take a leap of imagination to connect the dots. See if you can identify the individual elements using color, shape, and texture as your clues. How would you choose to show EARTH, AIR, FIRE, and WATER?
