Arts Overview

Participation in the performing and visual arts empowers students to express themselves creatively and develop an appreciation of aesthetics and culture. Dexter Southfield and the Departments of Arts are committed to having the arts play a significant role in the life of students and the School.

Students at every age and level of proficiency are offered a wide-range of opportunities at Dexter Southfield, from instrumental and vocal programs, to theater and dance, to drawing and sculpture, to painting and woodworking. Artwork is displayed throughout the campus, and our Newton Street campus is dedicated solely to the arts, providing all students with access to studio and classroom space.
