Athletics Overview

Dexter Southfield provides a comprehensive athletic program for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Class 12. The athletics program is designed to provide an appropriate combination of physical education, intramural, and competitive interscholastic sports offerings that are age appropriate.

The Athletic Curriculum:

  • Pre-K and K: Physical Education classes are conducted several times per week. Students participate in a variety of physical activities.

  • Classes 1-2: Physical Education classes are conducted every day. Students participate in a variety of physical activities.
  • Classes 3-5: Intramural program. Students participate in all sports offerings in an instructional and competitive intramural program.
  • Classes 6-12: Interscholastic athletic program. Dexter Southfield fields teams that play at various levels of interscholastic competition. Varsity and sub-varsity teams are offered.

Boys' varsity hockey beat St. Sebastian’s 3-2, advancing them in the NEPSAC tournament. Dexter Southfield (#5) will play at Salisbury (#1) tomorrow at 2:15 p.m. The winner will play in Sunday’s championship game at St. Anselm’s College at 5 p.m. Good luck!!

Congratulations to all our athletes on a great winter season! Four varsity teams will advance to the NEPSEC Post-Season Tournament, with the first round of playoff games scheduled for this Wednesday, February 27: -Boys' Varsity Hockey (#5) will play at St. Sebastian’s (#4) at 4:00 p.m. -Girls' Varsity Basketball (#7) will play Bradford Christian (#2) at 5:00 p.m., at the Plaistow Community YMCA in Plaistow, NH -Boys' Varsity Basketball (#8) will play at Canterbury (#1) 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, March 2, our varsity swim team will travel to the Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford, Conn., for the NEPSAC Division III Championships. Congratulations to Girls Varsity Soccer! They advance to the NEPSAC playoffs and will travel to Brewster Academy this Wednesday, November 14, for a 2 p.m. game. Following a spectacular regular season, Varsity Football (6-2) will face Thayer Academy (6-2) in the Moose Curtis Bowl this Friday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m., at Gillette Stadium.
