Athletics Overview

Dexter Southfield provides a comprehensive athletic program for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Class 12. The athletics program is designed to provide an appropriate combination of physical education, intramural, and competitive interscholastic sports offerings that are age appropriate.

The Athletic Curriculum:

  • Pre-K and K: Physical Education classes are conducted several times per week. Students participate in a variety of physical activities.

  • Classes 1-2: Physical Education classes are conducted every day. Students participate in a variety of physical activities.
  • Classes 3-5: Intramural program. Students participate in all sports offerings in an instructional and competitive intramural program.
  • Classes 6-12: Interscholastic athletic program. Dexter Southfield fields teams that play at various levels of interscholastic competition. Varsity and sub-varsity teams are offered.

Congratulations to Girls Varsity Soccer! They advance to the NEPSAC playoffs and will travel to Brewster Academy this Wednesday, November 14, for a 2 p.m. game. Following a spectacular regular season, Varsity Football (6-2) will face Thayer Academy (6-2) in the Moose Curtis Bowl this Friday, November 16, at 6:30 p.m., at Gillette Stadium. Casey Kane '18 and her Franklin Pierce teammates won the NE10 Championship for the first time in a decade last night as they beat Assumption College 3-0. She blocked all three shots on goal to pick up the win and mark her eighth shutout of the season. Casey has also been named to the all-rookie team. Keep up the great work!
