The Girls' Cross Country team has steadily improved over the past few years because we welcome any young woman who is interested in:

  • Training to become a successful cross country runner

  • Improving their strength and fitness for other sports such as ice hockey, crew, or basketball
  • Learning about the latest developments in physiology and nutrition

Our weekly workouts include hill runs, water running, and longer runs on campus. We also run at neighboring sites such as Arnold Arboretum and the Emerald Necklace. Our schedule allows for runners to compete at several invitational meets such as Canterbury, Marianapolis, and the New England Prep School Division 4 Championships. We also compete against many EIL and ISL schools.

Our basic program trains runners to improve their endurance by first running 30-45 minutes and then adding quality workouts that include hill running and drills. Finally, more experienced runners complete workouts that focus on training zones and include heart-rate monitors
