The Middle School Softball program builds on fundamental skill development as well as knowledge of tactics and rules. Coaches help players improve, while providing a framework for personal growth through teamwork and competition. The Middle School Softball team provides players with the opportunities to learn the value of sportsmanship, hard work, and leadership.

    From Boston: Take Storrow Drive west through Kenmore Square (Citgo sign). Travel south on Brookline Avenue. Go left onto Route 1 south (or the Riverway). Shortly after MDC skating rink on right, take right on to Perkins Street. Continue straight, passing Hellenic College on left and Cottage Street on right, for exactly one mile. From the west: Travel east on Route 9 past the Mall, past Hammond Street and the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center. Turn right on to Lee Street at the intersection of Chestnut Hill Avenue on left and Brookline Reservoir on far right. Take Lee Street to "T" intersection/full traffic light. (Don't be alarmed by Lee Street's being named Clyde Street at that light.) Go left at light; immediately bear left onto Goddard Avenue. Larz Anderson Park will be on your right; Park School will come up on your left. From the north: From Storrow Drive, head south on Soldier's Field Road. Exit right past Northeastern's crew building on river, and continue straight - through Brighton, through Cleveland Circle, on to Chestnut Hill Avenue to Route 9, where you cross and turn right (2 o'clock) on to Lee Street, where Brookline Reservoir will be on left. (See Above.) From the south: From Route 95 (Route 128) take Route 1 north. Follow it past the Dedham Mall, past intersection with Route 109. Turn left at Harvard Community Health/Westbrook Village/Bertuccio's. Continue through Putterham rotary onto Grove Street, which will be called Newton Street at traffic light. Exxon Station on left. Go through light, bear left on to Goddard Avenue. Larz Anderson Park will be on right. School on left.

    From 128 north or south: Take Exit 16A. Go six-tenths of a mile from the Exit ramp and turn right onto Lowder Street. Follow Lowder to its end; turn right onto Highland Street; go one block and turn right onto Sandy Valley Road. DCD will be on your left. From West Roxbury: Take Route 1, the VFW Parkway, turn right onto Route 109 at the West Roxbury VA Hospital. Go approximately one and a half miles through three traffic lights, the last of which is at the Dedham Common. Take the second left beyond the Common (Lowder Street) and follow directions above. From Westwood, Dover, Medfield: Take Route 109. Cross over Route 128 and follow the first set of directions above. From Canton, Sharon, Norwood: Take Route 1. Take the first left after Route 128 -at the traffic lights - (by the Dedham Cinemas) onto Elm Street. Go to the first traffic light. Cross intersection and bear right onto Highland Street. Sandy Valley Road is the third left.

    From the West: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike to the Cambridge/Allston Exit. Take the Cambridge fork at the Exit. After the first set of lights and before the bridge, turn right on to Storrow Drive. Head toward Boston (the skyline) to the third Exit, Kenmore/Fenway/Route 1 south. Take the Fenway Route 1 south Exit. (This Exit is half way up the ramp just after the Kenmore Square Exit.) Bear right on to Boylston Street, outbound. 1. Follow Boylston Street to the end where Brookline Avenue joins it from the right at a major intersection - (the old Sears building will be on your right). 2. Go straight across the intersection and bear right in to Pilgrim Roadimmediately after the last set of lights on the far side on the intersection. (Pilgrim Road Exits onto the same intersection. 3. Go to the top of Pilgrim Road. The Winsor School is on the corner of Pilgrim Road and Short Street (both one-way streets). Parking is either directly ahead behind the gym, or to your right, in front of the school. From Boston and the North Shore from Routes 93/1 North: Take Storrow Drive to the Kenmore /Fenway/Route 1 south Exit. Follow signs for Boylston Street outbound. Proceed as in #1 above. From Routes 93/1 South: Take 93/1 north to the Exit for Columbia Road and Massachusetts Avenue. Follow Massachusetts Avenue north to the intersection with Beacon Street. Turn left onto Beacon Street and continue to Kenmore Square. At Kenmore Square, bear left onto Brookline Avenue and continue to the major intersection at the old Sears building. Proceed as from #2 above. From Providence, RI: Take I-95 north. I-95 becomes Route 128. Choose I-95/Route 128 toward Dedham. At Dedham, take Route 1 north toward Boston. Route 1 becomes the VFW Parkway, Jamaica Way (and may have a few other section names inbetween). Stay on Route 1 until the intersection with Brookline Avenue. Cross Brookline Avenue on to the Riverway. bear right all the way on the Riverway until it intersects again with Brookline Avenue at the third set of traffic lights. Take a right onto Brookline Avenue and continue turning right on to Pilgrim Road (which exits on to the same intersection). Proceed as from #3 above. BOAT HOUSE- The Belmont Hill-Winsor boathouse and its parking lot are located 200 meters upstream from the Eliot Bridge, which crosses the Charles River near Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols School. The boathouse has a newly refurbished exterior with blue, red, and white themes. (It is not to be confused with the adjacent VFW hall, which is constructed of brick and is closer to the bridge.) The boathouse can be seen from Soldiers’ Field Road on the Boston side of the river and from Greenough Boulevard on the Cambridge side. ** To reach from upstream, cross the Charles River from Western Ave. in Brighton, and take the first right, just over the bridge. This road is Greenough Blvd. Follow the river for 1.5-2 miles, and enter the parking lot just before the ramp to Eliot Bridge and signs pointing to Boston. This entrance is across Greenough Blvd. from BB&N School. ** From Soldiers’ Field Road, Storrow Drive, coming out from Boston, cross the Eliot Bridge, staying in the left lane and turn left as you approach BBN school. Stay left and take the first U-turn possible, then enter the parking lot driveway on the right, within about 50 feet. ** From outbound Memorial Drive OR incoming Fresh Pond Parkway (Routes 2 and 16), STAY RIGHT AS YOU PASS BBN school, and then merge to Greenough Blvd. and take first U-turn possible (see option #2 above). Enter the parking lot’s driveway on the right, within about 50 feet. A good place for watching some the races is from Eliot Bridge, just downstream of Belmont Hill’s boathouse, or from the opposite side of the river.
