We are honored to share that our very own Tori Whitcher, head coach of the varsity field hockey team, has been named the recipient of USA Field Hockey’s 2020 Field Hockey Humanitarian Award. The award is presented annually to an individual who has transcended the game of field hockey and achieved something inspirational to us all. This individual has used field hockey to better themselves, his/her community and beyond. Congratulations, Tori, and thank you for all you do to grow the game of field hockey and support our student athletes.

Today we begin our #TBT summer series with an appropriately-timed alumni feature following the recent SpaceX launch! F. Story Musgrave, M.D., Class of 1947, served in the United States Marine Corps, and went on to earn seven academic degrees, including a doctorate in medicine. He was selected as a scientist-astronaut by NASA in 1967, and completed six total space flights during his career, including the first service and repair mission of the Hubble Space Telescope in 1993. He took his final space flight in 1996 at the age of 61. Story retired from NASA in 1997, having logged more than 1,200 hours on space missions. After retiring, Story has spent his time as a public speaker, and a consultant to various Disney projects, including creative ideas for resorts and parks and consulting on movies.
