Middle school students spent the day celebrating diversity. They participated in important conversations and attended hands-on workshops, ranging from learning the Salsa to discussing race and gender, among many other topics. The day concluded with a beautifully choreographed performance by dance company, Urbanity Dance.

Due to the impending storm, all students will be dismissed at 2:30 this afternoon. Buses will arrive at their stops approximately one hour ahead of their regularly scheduled times. All afternoon activities have been cancelled. Stay safe!

Faculty members Michael Williams, Joanna Walsh, and Liz Briody attended a METAA "lunch and learn" event at the Microsoft STEM Garage on Monday. They learned about augmented reality, virtual reality, 3D modeling and laser cutting, and saw how businesses and colleges are moving into new markets. For example, Harvard University's French program is currently immersing students into the French Quarters with virtual reality. These professional development opportunities help our teachers explore new ideas to bring back to campus.

Despite the warm 60 degree weather, Pre-K students and parents celebrated Snowy Day this morning. They read stories, sang songs, and enjoyed many winter-themed arts activities. Thanks to all who made this event so wonderful!

Congratulations to all of our Class 6, 7, and 8 mathematicians who placed in first, second, and third on the AMC 8! The AMC 8 is a 25 question, 40-minute multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development and enhancement of problem solving skills.

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, our middle school students spent Friday's lunch period watching his iconic speech, "I Have a Dream." Students discussed the importance his words carried then, and still carry today.

More than 80 parents from independent schools throughout the greater Boston area joined us on campus this morning for the Parents’ Independent School (PIN) Annual Meeting and Head of School Panel. Todd Vincent was joined by fellow heads Kerry Brennan (The Roxbury Latin School) and Tamara Schurdak (The Chestnut Hill School) for a discussion on civic engagement.
