At Dexter Southfield, we are committed to supporting students in their personal growth as much as their academic success. To foster the emotional health and well-being of the school community, a full-time school counselor is available to students in Classes 6-12. The school counselor is a valuable resource for students, families, and faculty, and works together with advisors, deans, the health center, and academic support staff to facilitate an integrated and sensible plan for students who may need additional support.
In addition, the school counselor can facilitate a referral to outside resources when the need arises. Students may sign up for an appointment or just drop in. Information students share with the counselor is private and treated with confidentiality within the limits of safety and the law.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Cassandra Xanthos, LICSW, at 617-454-2732 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
