Offensive lineman Anthony “U-Hall” Hall ’26 announced his commitment to play football at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill this afternoon. After narrowing his fourteen offers to three, Anthony selected Carolina over Rutgers University and University of Tennessee.
After Head Coach Bill Belichick visited Dexter Southfield, Anthony felt connected to the Tar Heels. “[Coach Belichick] coming to my school, his history and everything he accomplished—it was an honor to talk to him. His knowledge of the game, I see it all connecting,” shares Anthony. “[Coach Belichick] is from New England, and I am from New England, and that is a big thing. I could imagine playing for him one day and a big future is coming his way [and] UNC's way, so that is a factor.”
A trip south to Chapel Hill to meet Offensive Line Coach Will Friend solidified Anthony’s excitement about the program and their academics. "I feel I can become a better person, and also an athlete, just being around the Chapel Hill community,” shares Anthony. “They are having a rebuild that I want to be a part of and to be able to grow and keep on growing, and no matter where I turn, I will always be surrounded by good people."
When asked, “What are the Tar Heels getting out of Anthony “U-Hall” Hall?” Anthony shares, “They are getting the most hardworking and loving player on and off the field on their team. If we are down 40–0 or up 40–0, I will always be the same person. To my future teammates: Let’s work and let’s do what we have to do to set the scale right.”
Anthony is the number one high school football player in the state of Massachusetts, is ranked twenty-sixth offensive lineman in the nation, and was named All-NEPSAC in 2024 and Evergreen Honorable Mention in 2023. We are excited to watch Anthony continue to play at the collegiate level. Go Heels!
