We want to ensure that visits and events are inclusive for all. If you anticipate a barrier or need to request an accommodation, please contact the Admissions Office at (617) 751-3600 or email@example.com. To ensure there is enough time to make appropriate arrangements, please contact us one week before your visit, when possible. Before your arrival, please review the commonly asked questions below.
Our campus address is 20 Newton Street, Brookline, MA. Please park in the reserved admissions spaces on the Arena Parking Deck (#4 on our Campus Map). After parking, please check-in at the Main Office in the Clay Center.
Your visit will last approximately two hours and will allow you to tour campus, step into classes, and meet with our admissions team to discuss your experiences, interests, and questions.
Dexter Southfield is a unique environment where each child thrives individually and as part of a community. As you tour our campus, please use your time with a member of our admissions team to discuss your experiences, interests, and to ask questions that will help you to better understand how we partner with our students as they gain the character, confidence, and compassion to become leaders, lifelong learners, and engaged citizens who are prepared to achieve their personal best through every stage of life.
If you have scheduled a virtual interview:
We will send you reminder emails the day prior to your visit as well as one hour before the start of your interview. Please click on the Zoom link, and you will be entered into your interviewer’s waiting room.
Prior to your visit you will receive an email allowing you to access the tour portion of your visit. You will be given the option to use our virtual tour platform to view the places on campus that interest you the most or you will be able to view a student-led video tour which will give you an overview of our School, curriculum, and student life.
While the word “interview” can sound scary, the reality is that this is as much an opportunity for you to get to know Dexter Southfield as it is for us to get to know you. Prior to the interview, it is helpful to think about your interests and your passions. What are you eager to learn? What will you bring to the Dexter Southfield community as a scholar, an athlete, an artist, or a leader? When you think about your future, what excites you? Every interview (and interviewer) is different, but the goal is always the same.
Come ready to ask us questions. We love talking about our programs, our students, and our community.
After the student interview is complete, we will speak briefly to parent(s) and/or guardian(s). At this time, parents and/or guardians are encouraged to offer insight into their child and ask any remaining questions about the School or application process.
While parent visits begin in September and include a tour and an informational meeting with our admissions team, student visits are also a required part of the application process and can be scheduled on a date following the parent/guardian tour and interview. PreK and K student visits are conducted in-person in December and January while Class 1-5 student visits are virtual and can be scheduled between October and January.
The student visit provides your child with an opportunity to learn more about Dexter Southfield and for us to observe them in a classroom setting.
