Welcome
Today’s Dexter Southfield experience, guided by the motto, “Our Best Today, Better Tomorrow,” encourages creativity, innovation, and the pursuit of excellence.
Our intentional emphasis on character and integrity creates a community of students who are ready to lead with confidence and serve with compassion.
Our students achieve. Our college-prep curriculum offers students numerous opportunities to pursue passions in many areas. Our curriculum also extends far beyond campus, with programming and opportunities for experiential learning and research with renowned institutions such as Harvard Medical School, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and MIT.
Our students collaborate. Dexter Southfield brings young men and women together on one campus while they experience the benefits of single-sex education during the formative PreK-Class 8 years. In the Upper School, students progress to co-ed classes, activities, and extracurriculars that are strengthened by single-sex program features, such as Class 9 Ethics and advisory groups. Intentional opportunities for cross-divisional mentoring enrich the student experience at all age levels.
Our students create. Participation in the visual and performing arts empowers our students to express themselves creatively and to develop a lifelong appreciation of the arts. We value hands-on engagement and encourage our students to take risks by playing a new instrument, acting on stage, or trying a new visual arts form.
Our students compete. We value the importance of competition while acknowledging that athletics offers an equally valuable outlet for adolescents to develop their confidence. Our intramural, middle school, junior varsity, and varsity programs allow our students to display integrity, teamwork, sportsmanship, and humility.
We invite you to learn more by scheduling a time to tour our campus, meet our students and faculty, and ask questions. We are confident that at the end of this process you will understand all that sets Dexter Southfield apart.
I look forward to meeting you and your family.
