There is an unmistakable sense of pride felt when our student-athletes pull on the shield.
At Dexter Southfield, we value the importance of a competitive environment while understanding that athletics offers an equally valuable outlet for adolescents to develop their confidence. Rooted in the School’s character-based education, our teams conduct themselves with the utmost integrity, displaying teamwork, sportsmanship, and humility to their coaches, peers, opponents, and officials.
Guided by experienced coaches who are passionate about their respective sports, our students find that their Dexter Southfield athletic experiences often lay a foundation for their future. On average, more than 25 percent of our graduating class goes onto play collegiate athletics for some of the nation’s top college and university programs. An equal number of students discover a new passion when trying a sport for the first time. No matter individual ability, there is an opportunity for everyone to play and to experience the benefits of being part of a team.
When I think of my time at Dexter Southfield, I reminisce on the time I spent building relationships with my classmates, teachers, coaches, and teammates. I appreciated the challenges in the classroom and on the ice as they prepared me for college and life after. I learned to be organized, independent, and confident in order to find success in everything I do. Meghara McManus '16
