Musical Theater Camp (Ages 10-14)

For the very first time, Musical Theater Camp will put on a full musical production from start to finish!

Musical theater-loving campers can find their creative outlet here at Dexter Southfield. Thespians-to-be will develop singing, dancing, and acting skills throughout our three-week session.

Campers should come ready to spend time both on stage and off. Our days will be broken up into sessions that allow campers to learn their lines, practice choreography, and familiarize themselves with props and costumes needed to make their performances shine. Traditional camp activities will be included in the weekly schedule, and (weather permitting) actors and actresses will also have time outside.

Time Commitment

Please note that each session is a three-week commitment. To help campers confidently learn choreography, blocking, and lyrics in time for the final shows, we highly suggest that performers attend all three of these weeks.

Musical Theater Camp presents... Moana, Jr.

This summer, Musical Theater Camp excited to announce that we will put on a production of Moana, Jr., licensed through Music Theater International. Campers will audition for parts on first day of camp, and will be assigned roles both on-stage and with the stage crew to ensure a successful production at the end of the three-week session.

Please note: there is no camp on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Parents will be invited to the final dress rehearsal on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

What to send

Helpful hints

Label all items that you send to camp!
Since we are spending time both inside and outside, please wear sneakers or close-toed shoes, not flip flops or sandals without a heel strap! This will keep campers safe and able to participate in all activities.
Please apply sunscreen before your camper arrives to camp in the morning and send in a labeled supply in your child's backpack so we can reapply throughout the day and after swimming.
Camp can be a messy place! We highly encourage you to send your child to camp in play clothes so they can confidently take part in all activities without worry that their nice clothes may come home messier than intended.
Our staff asks that your child arrive with a backpack or drawstring bag each day so we can help keep your camper organized as well as send home any projects.
