Services & Amenities - Dexter Southfield

Dexter Southfield's 36-acre campus, located just five miles from downtown Boston, allows campers to try their hand at many different activities. Whether they are swimming in our on-campus pool, learning new skating drills or perfecting their backhand in the Kraft Fieldhouse & Arena, scoring goals and touchdowns on one of our many fields, exploring the Playscape, or competing in STEM challenges in the Clay Center, the opportunities for exploration are endless!

We cannot say enough good things about the camp. This was our first summer at Dexter Southfield, and the girls literally cried when camp was over. The campus, facilities, counselors, and organization are all top-notch.

Food Services

Sage Dining Services, our food service team, will provide campers with snacks and lunch each day. Meals will be served to campers individually by the dining staff.

Lunches will be served indoors. Most campers will have the opportunity to enjoy their lunch outdoors as weather permits.

Parents who have marked that their child follows a vegetarian diet will have access to the vegetarian option of the day in our serving line. There will also be an allergen– friendly option for all children who have food allergies. Food allergies can be noted on the health history form, which is available to fill out on your Camp InTouch account and is due on May 1.

Families who would prefer not to use dining service this year may send their child to camp with a lunch and snack as long as the food is nut-free. There will be no discount to the camp fee if you decide not to use this service, and we are unable to provide refrigeration for personal lunches or snacks. If you choose to send in a lunch, please reach out to your child's camp director via email to confirm that a lunch will be coming in so they know to look for it at lunchtime. Please note: this policy is for summer camp only and does not apply to Dexter Southfield during the school year.

Swimming

Swimming at Dexter Southfield Summer Camp is one of our campers' favorite activities. Our indoor pool is overseen by certified lifeguards current in Water Safety instruction, CPR, and AED training. Junior and Day campers will have swimming lessons each morning, and campers in every camp have the option to swim every day during open swim in the afternoons.

The heated Lincoln Pool is 25 yards long and 15 yards wide, includes a one-meter diving board, and features a retractable roof for the summer months.

Transportation

We are happy to offer bus transportation to and from camp. Use of the bus service, powered by Local Motion, is a la carte and will cost $90/week.

Bus 3: Westwood - Dedham - West Roxbury
Bus 4: Beacon Hill - Brookline
Bus 5: Back Bay - Cleveland Circle - Brookline
Bus 6: Weston - Wellesley
Bus 7: Charlestown

Families may select this service via the camper application and will be first come, first served. Once registered, bus stops can be selected through the Day Travel Form on Camp InTouch. This form can be found on the Forms & Documents page on your account and should be filled out by May 1.

Please note: all buses have a maximum capacity. We continuously monitor the bus stop registrations and if a bus reaches maximum capacity and we are unable to accommodate your child, your bus fees will be refunded.
