The primary goal for our camp is to hire individuals who love the camp experience, thoroughly enjoy working with children, are reliable, and are outgoing. If you hope to join our team in 2023, please see below to learn more about our seasonal positions.

  • Dexter Southfield is fortunate to have a 90% return rate on summer staff. Positions listed below are limited.
  • All applicants should be 15 years of age or older.
  • Staff are expected on campus between 7:30 a.m. until the last camper leaves (typically 3:45 p.m.).
  • All positions are seasonal. Preference is given to candidates who are able to work the full camp season between June 20 and August 11.
  • If selected, all staff and volunteers must undergo a background check and attend our staff training in the week before camp begins.
  • Hired staff in our various camps will be required to work a minimum number of days.
    • Junior Camp, Day Camp, Senior Camp, Sci-Tech Camp, and Girls in Science, operating under a 7-week schedule, will be required to work 30 days.
    • Hockey Camp and Soccer Camp, operating under an 8-week schedule, will be required to work 35 days.
