The primary goal for our camp is to hire individuals who love the camp experience, thoroughly enjoy working with children, can be reliable to help promote a sense of consistency for our campers, and are outgoing. Current seasonal positions

Hoping to join our camp team? Learn some facts about the upcoming camp season, and peruse our current seasonal positions below.

  • Dexter Southfield is fortunate to have a 90% return rate on summer staff. Positions listed below are limited.
  • All applicants should be 15 years of age or older. Please see job descriptions below to learn more about position requirements.
  • Staff are expected on campus between 7:30 a.m. until the last camper leaves (typically 3:45 p.m.).
  • All positions are seasonal. Preference is given to candidates who are able to work the full camp season between June 17 and August 9.
  • If selected, all staff and volunteers must undergo a background check and attend our staff training in the week before camp begins.
  • Hired staff in our various camps will be required to work a minimum number of days.
    • Junior Camp, Day Camp, Senior Camp, Sci-Tech Camp, and Girls in Science, operating under a 7-week schedule, will be required to work 30 days.
    • Hockey Camp and Sports Camp, operating under an 8-week schedule, will be required to work 35 days.
    • Musical Theater Camp, operating under a 3-week schedule, will be required to work 11 days.
