The primary goal for our camp is to hire individuals who love the camp experience, thoroughly enjoy working with children, can be reliable to help promote a sense of consistency for our campers, and are outgoing. - Dexter Southfield is fortunate to have a 90% return rate on summer staff. Positions listed below are limited.
- All applicants should be 15 years of age or older. Please see job descriptions below to learn more about position requirements.
- Staff are expected on campus between 7:30 a.m. until the last camper leaves (typically 3:45 p.m.).
- All positions are seasonal. Preference is given to candidates who are able to work the full camp season between June 17 and August 9.
- If selected, all staff and volunteers must undergo a background check and attend our staff training in the week before camp begins.
- Hired staff in our various camps will be required to work a minimum number of days.
- Junior Camp, Day Camp, Senior Camp, Sci-Tech Camp, and Girls in Science, operating under a 7-week schedule, will be required to work 30 days.
- Hockey Camp and Sports Camp, operating under an 8-week schedule, will be required to work 35 days.
- Musical Theater Camp, operating under a 3-week schedule, will be required to work 11 days.
