Musical Theater Camp (Ages 8–14)
Musical Theater Camp puts on a full production from start to finish in just three weeks!
Musical theater-loving campers can find their creative outlet here at Dexter Southfield. Thespians-to-be will develop singing, dancing, and acting skills throughout our three-week session.
Campers should come ready to participate both on stage and off. Our days will be broken up into sessions that allow campers to run lines, practice choreography, learn blocking, and create set pieces and props needed to make their performances shine. New this year, performers will have additional opportunities to strengthen their vocal performance with the guidance of voice coaches from DeFranco Music, LLC.
Please note that our staff will build in free swim and traditional camp activities during the first week and a half of our schedule. In preparation for the final shows, however, our focus will shift to rehearsal-only programming for the last half of our session.
Stage Crew & Technical Design | Boys & Girls Ages 11–14
This summer, 11–14-year-olds will have the option of stepping into a new role at Musical Theater Camp: one that helps build their skills offstage! Designed to boost the confidence of campers who are interested in helping actors be their best onstage, the Stage Crew & Technical Design team will have the opportunity to shadow their counselors and the directors to learn the ins and outs of lighting and sound equipment, creating beautiful scenery and props, and perhaps taking on the role of stage manager for the entire production.
Please note: 11–14 years old campers select either the regular Musical Theater Camp OR the Stage Crew & Technical Design Track on the camper application.
